Travel has always been an important part of my family’s story. As a husband and father of four daughters, some of our most treasured memories have come from exploring new places together. Those experiences are also a big part of why I became a Travel Advisor.

I’m David Montoya, Jr., a Travel Advisor with Nunnery Travel & Associates, part of the Dream Vacations network. I help families, couples, and individuals plan meaningful vacations with personal guidance and careful attention to the details that matter.

For me, travel planning isn’t simply about choosing where to go. It’s about understanding the people taking the trip and what will make the experience meaningful for them.

Over the years, I’ve learned that meaningful trips don’t happen by chance. Thoughtful planning can make the entire experience easier and more enjoyable.

One of my greatest lessons has come from traveling with my daughter, who uses a wheelchair. Those experiences showed me firsthand how much the details matter. Accessibility, comfort, timing, and careful preparation can make a significant difference while traveling.

They also taught me never to assume the same arrangements will work for every traveler.

That perspective shapes how I approach travel planning today. I listen, ask questions, and take time to understand each traveler’s priorities. Whether there are mobility considerations, personal preferences, or experiences you don’t want to miss, those details deserve attention from the beginning.

Families, couples, and individual travelers can visit the same destination and want completely different experiences. That is why I don’t believe travel planning should take a one-size-fits-all approach.

Your interests, comfort, schedule, travel style, and priorities help shape the direction of your trip. My role is to listen to what you want and help bring those considerations into the planning process.

I specialize in cruises, tours, and luxury travel, with each vacation approached around the person or people taking it.

Good travel planning starts with listening.

Before looking at destinations and itineraries, I want to understand what matters to you. Who is traveling? What do you enjoy? What pace feels comfortable? Are you celebrating something special? Are there particular needs or priorities that should shape the trip?

From there, I help make the planning process more manageable by narrowing the possibilities and helping you consider the details that matter to your experience.

Most importantly, you have a real person to contact. I want my clients to feel comfortable asking questions, discussing concerns, and sharing the information that could make their trip better.

Traveling with my daughter has given me a personal appreciation for how accessibility can affect a vacation.

Transportation, accommodations, timing, mobility, and navigating a destination can all influence the travel experience. That’s why I encourage clients to share accessibility or mobility requirements as early as possible.

Accessibility varies by destination, property, ship, transportation provider, and itinerary. Specific requirements should therefore be identified and confirmed during planning rather than assumed.

I don’t take those details for granted. My own family experiences have taught me that careful preparation can make a meaningful difference.
